Today is the day my hubby returns to sea. Two lives, which remain connected, yet going their separate ways, for now. While we do not like being apart, we have both proclaimed this to be our time for personal growth. Seven months of personal upgrade if you will. Don has things he plans on working on on his end, and I have things that will keep me busy as well. I have a busy schedule this year so hopefully time will fly by.
Also this deployment marks a milestone for me. For the first time in our marriage, it is the first extended deployment where I will not be sitting home with children. Not my own children, nor watching others left in my care. For the first time if I need to take a break I can. I will be on my own schedule with only myself to answer to. If I want to drive to the beach and walk along the sand I can. Okay so I can do those things even when Don is home and yes walking on the beach is much more enjoyable when walking with the one you love, but I am trying to stay positive about this personal upgrade time.
Today is also the day I restart my diet. The 17 day diet worked so well for me the last time, that I will be revisiting it, starting today. It works on increments of 17 days to keep your body from becoming used to your eating pattern. There are tons of diets out there, believe me I have tried most of them, but for some reason this is the one I’ve had the most success on.
While I have been off of the actual diet for some time I have been able to incorporate many of the things I learned on the diet to help stave off the pounds. It was not until recently when I my eating habits became lax that I noticed a few extra pounds sneaking back on. Not wanting things to get out of control I’ve decided now is the time to return to my diet.
It comes at the perfect time as the first seventeen days are the most restrictive. While the second set eases things a bit the third set really opens up your choices. I will be able to get the most restrictive days out of the way before my busy book touring schedule begins. It is much easier to eat while away if you can have a starch or two along the way.
The book tour in itself is one of the most exciting events of my year. I cannot believe how many signings I have scheduled so far this year and I hope to get even more along the way. Especially with the spring release of my first children’s book, The Legend of the Sock Goblins. If this is new to you check out the author website I have created for my children’s books. http://www.sherryajones.com/
A good deal of my signings for the year are out of state. I am really not looking forward to driving through the mountains, as I was always the one who rode my bike downhill with my brakes on while others threw caution to the wind. Still it will be a journey and I’m sure that in itself with make for an entertaining blog in the future.
So, as Don’s journey begins so does mine, I will continue writing full time, eating properly, embarking on an amazing book tour, and most of all taking time for me…
