Time to get dressed!

This week finds me back on my soap box about something that has really been bugging me of late, a fashion trend gone wrong, really wrong…

I try to keep up with the times when it comes to fashion. I wore bell bottom jeans so wide you never knew if I had on shoes back in the 80’s. In the 90’s I embarrassed my dad so much that he offered me money for new jeans. I don’t think I ever convinced him that holes in the knees were actually a fashion statement. I own UGG boots, and I don’t think it is because they are pretty, although I really enjoy wearing them.

Anyone that knows me knows I like to dress casual. BUT what I can’t wrap my brain around is the latest trend of wearing your pj’s out in public. Every time I turn around I see bunnies, bears, plaids, Sponge Bob and Hello Kitty, on adults! You name it and it is out there, in public for all to see.

I have seen them in the bank, at 7-eleven, the movie theater, the mall, Wal-Mart, okay I can understand Wal-Mart. Not really, but when I see them in there at least I can think the person wearing them are trying to make the latest people of Wal-Mart posters.

Seriously when did it become okay to not get dressed when leaving the house? I can almost see it if you know you will not be getting out of the car. Like a late night run to the drive thru or something. But even then, what if you were in an accident? Do you want the EMTs to have to cut away your favorite pajama pants? Then what would you have to wear when you are at home recuperating?

Wearing pajamas out in public ranks right up there with wearing your pants down under your privates.  Hello, do you really think the world wants to know if you wear boxers or briefs? And do you actually think we want to see them? So please, stop being lazy, and put on some pants. Real pants, and for goodness sakes, pull them up!
